Privacy policy

The short version

We collect the minimum needed to run the service. No advertising trackers, no selling data, no tracking cookies. Page view and click counts are stored without any visitor identity attached.

Who is responsible

MonsterLink is run by Jonathan Keeley, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading as MonsterLink. He is the data controller for the information described here.

If you have a MonsterLink account

• Account details. Your email address and a securely hashed password, used to sign you in and send account emails like password resets.
• Your page. The names, text, images and links you choose to publish. That is the point of the product, and it is public.
• Stats. We count views and clicks on your page so we can show you your numbers.
• Billing. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe and your card number never touches our systems. We keep what a UK business has to keep for its records: your Stripe customer reference, subscription status and dates, the amounts you have paid, and the country from your billing address and card. We also record that you ticked the checkout consent boxes, and when. See Payments below.

If you visit someone's page

• We record that a view or click happened, with the referring site if your browser sends one. We do not record who you are, and we set no tracking cookies.
• On our own pages we keep our own visit counts the same way: which page was viewed, the site that referred you, and a random number your browser makes up so repeat views are not counted twice. No name, no account, no IP address, no cookies, and nothing is shared with or bought from any analytics company.
• If a page includes an embedded player from YouTube, Spotify or SoundCloud, or a map from Google, that content loads from those companies and their own privacy policies apply to it.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (database, login and file storage), the site is served by Cloudflare, email is sent and received through Resend, and payments run through Stripe. Some processing may happen outside the UK; where it does, it is covered by those providers' standard contractual safeguards.

Payments

Stripe is the payment processor. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy; we never see or store the number. What we store on our side is the transaction record: who paid, how much, when, and the billing and card country, because UK tax law requires business records to be kept for six years. Those records survive account deletion for that reason, with everything else about the account removed as normal.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Removing a block removes its content, and deleting your account from Page settings removes your page, uploads and stats for good. Visitor stats live until the page owner deletes the block, page or account they belong to. The one exception is payment records, kept six years as described under Payments.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to processing, and complain to the ICO. Most of it you can see and delete yourself in the product; for anything else, email hello@monsterlink.io and we will sort it.

Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully we will post the new version here with a new date.
